Living Portraits

To be painted is to be immortalized.

A group exhibition curated by artist, Urshula Dunn, featuring seven DMV based, queer artists.

About the Exhibition:

As artists we have the ability to immortalize people in our work. The goal of this exhibition is to take that idea and put it into practice immortalizing our own communities. In a time when there is an active effort to erase the existence of queer, especially trans identities, this exhibition aims to create a moment depicting even a sliver of this community in all the light and beauty possible. Consisting of a collection of portraits created by local artists at various stages in their career, subjects of the portraits are all queer individuals that are either part of, have impacted, or have served as inspirational figures in the artists’ lives.
